On with the show - and what a show!

We have something very special for you at our December core meeting!  As last year, the event will be a traditional British pantomime - this time the story of Aladdin, a Middle-Eastern folk tale.  It is one of the best-known tales associated with One Thousand and One Nights (often known in English as The Arabian Nights), featuring a poor boy who finds a magic oil lamp that can be used to summon a genie who grants wishes.

Of course, being a pantomime, the show will contain lashings of tragedy and comedy, goodies and baddies, magic, cheesy humour, double-entendres, song & dance and, of course, audience participation.

This is a ‘ticket only’ event.  Tickets will be limited to 100 and we anticipate it will be sold-out, so tickets are restricted to members and associate members only - refer to the e‑mail titled u3a "Aladdin - the Pantomime" Tickets that was sent to all members on 12 October, for more information.

You can look forward to a wonderful afternoon's entertainment.

The Production:

‘Aladdin - the Pantomime!’ is produced by Aunty Jen Productions - an award winning professional theatre company based in Studley.

Their Artistic Director, Jennifer Rigby, has performed at our Core Meetings in 2024 (‘Shakespeare and me’) and 2025 (‘Humorous Monologues’), and the company produced and performed their Sleeping Beauty pantomime for us last December to great acclaim.

In case you can't make it to our December Core Meeting, the Aladdin production is also touring the North Warwickshire area - details available here.
