Fixing things feels good!
The Shed is a regular item on many members' monthly calendar. This is not a repair service - you don't drop stuff off for us to repair for you; rather we encourage Members of both sexes to share their practical skills and enjoy repairing their own damaged and broken items. This provides the opportunity to learn new skills and try out various tools. Plus, of course, there are great conversations, and tea & biscuits!

More new members joining the group plus some of our existing garden chairs are showing their age. All plastics eventually go brittle as they age and some of our chairs have been repaired twice - so it is 'three breaks and they are out'!

We seem to be seeing newer and newer products turning up to the Shed, so what does that tell you about modern 'tech' or perhaps where they are made? Later, in Terry's ssu3a Technology Group he had a hunch about the intermittent fault on the power section of Anita's DAB+ radio which proved correct.

Tony had been given a genuine set of 3D slides from the the trenches of WW1. First priority was to repair the box which resembled a bound book and was looking very dog eared. Now Tony needs to find a viewer. Meanwhile Geoff's cistern was not working so the consequences could only be imagined....

Anita is happy once the behaviour of the Lithium batteries on her cordless leaf blower is properly understood by everyone. Meanwhile Geoff glues up the wobbly legs on the stool from Jeanine's 'Boudoir'.

Charlie's high tech find in a skip brought back to life A portable Solar Powered 12V battery charger which had packed up and was found dumped in a skip covered in coffee grounds..... Tests showed that both panels were delivering a healthy 21V DC in sunlight so the problem had to be in the controller…
