Penny is kindly leading this walk on Fri 28th August, starting and ending at Aston Cantlow.
Meeting point - King's Head, Bearley Road, Aston Cantlow B95 6HY. OS Explorer 205 (GR 138598). Parking and lunch available - see below;
Time: 9.45am for 10am start. Travel time approx. 25mins from Bentley Heath.
Distance: 4-5 miles
Terrain is mostly level with a few gentle gradients; field paths following the Arden Way, passing a SSI, picturesque hamlet and an ancient cider mill.
Walking poles recommended if you have them, as there are a couple of steep steps/gradients down to road level; also three ancient rickety stiles, but mostly kissing gates.
Small herd of cows in one field during trial walk - but didn't bother us.
PLEASE NOTE-
If you wish to have lunch at the King's Head, they would like to know numbers and pre-orders for food, if there will be more than 10!
Please email Julie (walkingssu3a@gmail.com) by 18th August if you want to have lunch; please note that the menu has changed recently - see https://www.thekh.co.uk
