‘There are Rivers in the Sky’ by Elif Shafak

In this novel, Elif Shafak, gave us three stories, connected by water.

From an 18th-century child born on the banks of the Thames, to a young Yazidi girl fleeing Isis in 2014, and back to the Thames where a lonely woman has sought sanctuary on a houseboat after the breakdown of her marriage.

Every member of the group thoroughly enjoyed this novel.  Several members, who had loaned the book from the library, intended to buy a copy, and the majority felt they would re-read it.

The group all reviewed this Elif Shafak novel as 10/10.
