In a change to the normal format, members gathered at Terry's place for our Christmas Meeting.  We were treated to a demonstration of flat-bed laser cutting.  Members got the chance to laser-cut a Christmas decoration to take away with them.

First the design was done using 3D drawing software (Sketchup)

Then the design is transferred to a 2D layout ready for cutting

The layout is sent to the laser cutter and cut out of a sheet of transparent Perspex

The cut-out pieces are assembled.
