This book is a sequel to a book we read last year, "The Girl with a Louding Voice".  We resume the story of Adunni, and another character, Tia , also has a prominent role in this novel.

It explores further the contrast between rural and city life in Nigeria: the contrast between tribal customs and beliefs, with city life, education and womens' role in the contrasting societies.

Difficult themes of child marriage, FGM and rape are all discussed.  Everyone liked the book, although several thought that one section was a bit contrived, whilst others loved it.  We had a good discussion.
