Amazing Grace

We explored the topic of Love and Grace.  We looked at Divine Grace and Grace in Christianity, the Catholic teaching on Grace, and Chapter 3 of John Pritchard's "Twenty Questions Jesus Asked And How They Speak To Us Today” (here).  Grace was (and is!) an important concept in Christianity and other religions - after all, your life eternal depends on it, and its meaning and how you received it were important tenets and sources of schisms in the church.  What was it?  The Catholic church taught that there are two kinds of grace: sanctifying grace is an undeserved gift from God to imperfect beings, whereas actual grace is a nudge from God towards doing the right thing.  In these more secular times, have we lost something with this meme of active faith?  Or what do we have now to move us to do what is right?  With our members covering the range from practising christian to atheist, there was of course a range of views.
